YWCA has long advocated for the health and safety of women and girls. We seeks to improve the lives of women and girls by providing high-quality health and wellness programs that are too often not available to communities of color.
YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade, Inc.’s Economic Empowerment Program teaches women how to close the income gap and increase financial literacy to gain life-long independence, autonomy and freedom.
Our health programs are focused on increasing access to health care and the reduction of racial health disparities.
Court Care provides a free, temporary childcare for children ages 6 months – 13 years while their parent/legal guardian attend a domestic violence related court proceeding or filing.
Our trained, qualified YWCA staff supervise children thanks to a partnership between the YWCA of Greater Miami-Dade, Inc. and the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. Our Court Care centers provide children with a positive and nurturing atmosphere, families with support services, and both with an appropriate and responsive referral system should families have additional needs.

We also offer KidSpace Child Care at the Broward County Central Courthouse. Open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Broward County KidSpace is open to children by referral only, through the Clerk of Courts, Domestic Violence Clerk. We help participants build assets and achieve financial goals. Participants earn $3 in matching funds for every $1 saved. The maximum amount a participants can save is $3,000 and the most they can earn is $9,000 for a total of $12,000. All Matched Savings clients must participate in financial education and training.
Enrollments is subject to our available funding. Income limits and other eligibility criteria applies.
The Family Wellness Program at the YWCA has provided health education and prevention services for over 20 years. We provide life-saving breast and cervical cancer screenings, as well as education and services for obesity prevention/reduction, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and stress management/reduction.
Our team works to provide a comprehensive system of client outreach, prevention, intervention, referrals and follow-up, we will help our clients’ access health care services and education and improve their health status. We work with community partners to provide services to Miami’s diverse population in their native language.
