YWCA supports women’s empowerment and economic advancement, with a particular focus on the reality the way race impacts women’s economic opportunities. Demand for technology jobs is growing in South Florida, where the technology industry contributes $22.3 billion to the local economy, according to The Computing Technology Industry Association.
Our partnership with Career Source South Florida will the increase economic security and increase the number of women in the Information Technology (IT) industry.
NEXT COHORT: NETWORK ADMINISTRATION

New Horizons Computer Learning Centers of South Florida (New Horizons) will deliver the next IT training cohort in the Women in IT initiative. This cohort will focus on creating opportunities for women to get into networking careers.
The Network Administration Training Program for Women was developed by New Horizons to prepare women to pass industry standard IT certification exams while ensuring they gain core skills needed to begin a career in network administration. New Horizons will provide instruction, courseware, labs, review tools, test preparation and test vouchers. Established in 1997, New Horizons has educated thousands of technology professionals in South Florida and has some of the IT industry’s most experienced instructors who will be providing the highest quality training. Their placement and graduation rates make them one of Florida’s top educators.
The program will be delivered in an instructor-led format, which provides participants with an interactive and engaging classroom experience blending:
- Hands-on practice
- Valuable student and peer interaction
- Online resources to use during and after the program
